Greek Education

There are two departments that focus on Greek education, The Direct Archdiocesan District Office of Education and the Greek Education department.

The Direct Archdiocesan District Office of Education is the liaison of the NYC Greek American parochial (faith-based) day schools with education authorities at the federal, state and city levels. The Education Office also provides curriculum guides, materials, and in-service training to the administrators and teachers serving in the parochial day and afternoon schools of the District. For more information, please call (212) 570-3554 or email Athina Filippou-Katehis (afilippou@goarch.org).

The Greek Education department publishes Greek educational curriculum books, posters and CDs. The “Ta Ellinika mou” (“Τα Ελληνικά μου”) series of books and workbooks for Greek language instruction also promotes Greek culture. For assistance with these materials, please call (212) 570-0233 or email Daisy Tsitouridou (daisytsitouridou@goarch.org).
