A New Orthodox Marketplace Website is Coming!

The Orthodox Marketplace online web store and the Department of Religious Education's catalog store are in the process of merging operations.

While we are working out the details of this transition, the Orthodox Marketplace website will suspend sales functionality of the site. Customers will be able to browse the catalog, log in and check on the status of outstanding orders and order history (including downloads).

However, the cart and checkout features will be disabled.

If you wish to purchase items in the interim, a subset of our product catalog is still available from our Amazon Storefront.

We expect the new Orthodox Marketplace and Resource Center website to launch later this summer.

This book does not deal with persecution as such, but with the example of the suffering church from which the whole world can draw inspiration. Suffering deepens and redefines faith. Out of it has come a joy and a commitment which Christians elsewhere so often lack. The worse the suffering, the more intense their experience.

On September 18, 1999, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios was enthroned as the sixth Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Certainly, this historic and majestic event was the beginning of a new era for the Church in America. It was also the inauguration of an archpastoral ministry that would be both an embodiment and a bearer of a call to faith. This volume is a select compilation of addresses and lectures over the first five years of the Archbishop's ministry that highlight this call.

In this collaborative effort, Fr John and Lyn Breck provide practical, theological, and pastoral thinking on complex matters: the use of embryonic stem cells, gene therapy, new definitions of sexuality and marriage, treatment of addictive behavior and substance abuse, and end-of-life care. Taking us through the stages on life's way, the authors show us how the ancient, vital wisdom of the Orthodox Church inspires and informs contemporary life.
