How do I use my affiliate ID?

Affiliate (or 'Partner') codes are minor modifications that are made to any URL address that points to any product, category or index page on the Orthodox Marketplace.

There are several ways to apply this change:

GETSTRING Method

If you are modifying to a link that is an html page (where the link address ends in ".html") you add the partner code just after the .html portion preceded by a question mark:

http://www.orthodoxmarketplace.com/some-page.html?partner=AF-0-000-ZZ

If you are copying a category page (without a page link) you can follow the same rule:

http://www.orthodoxmarketplace.com/category/?partner=AF-0-000-ZZ

Sometimes you may want to copy a link that has what are called 'messy' addresses. These are addresses that point to dynamic content and usually rely on information being passed through the web address itself. This shouldn't happen too often, BUT if this is the case, you precede the partner code with an ampersand:

http://www.orthodoxmarketplace.com/display.php?view=value&lang=en&partner=AF-0-000-ZZ

The point is to add the partner=value pair at the END of the string of paired values.

Banner Method

This area has not been fully developed - we are hoping to expand it in the near future. It is possible to log into your affiliate account and download pre-made code that pulls text banners, graphic banner, even a randomly rotating product banner - that we create.

It is not necessary to use the partner code AT ALL for these code snippets - they refer to your account using a special internal 10-letter code. Even when you use the partner code, you can see this code at the bottom of the store webpage once you have followed a referral link.
